Our 1st Grader

Jeff and I had our first parent/teacher conference this week with Abigail's teacher, Mrs. Greenfield. We are so very proud of Abigail and couldn't be more pleased with the way she has begun her 1st grade year! Mrs. Greenfield had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. She is meeting, or in most cases, exceeding the expectations for her age level. In first grade they work on reading, math, writing, science, social studies, art, music, and PE. If you were to ask Abigail what her favorite subject is she'd say, "I love them all!" This is what Mrs. Greenfield had to say about Abigail, "Abigail excels in all academic areas. She also excels at school behavior. She is attentive and compliant. She is a good friend and classmate. She is flexible and emotionally secure. She takes everything very seriously. She is engaged and enthusiastic about our learning. She is a joy to teach!"

In case it's not obvious...we are bragging just a little!!! We love you so much Abigail, way to go!!

All Stitched Up!!!

On Wednesday this week Wyatt fell and cut his forehead open...and so he got his first set of stitches! He was at a friends house and hit his head on a decorative cement block. Ouch! But he really didn't make to much of a fuss about it. He just wanted to keep playing. It didn't look good so I took him in and they put 2 stitches in to close it up. He was so brave and laid very still for the doctors. He kept asking, "Are you done yet?" We are so proud of him and how well he handled it. He is healing up fine and will have the stitches removed on Monday.

Wyatt said to his daddy when he got home from the Doc., "Dad, I got stitched!)

Abby-ism:

Dad, I'm acting a little crazy cause..."I'm on a sugar rash!"

Shane's 1st Birthday!

Can't believe Shane is 1 year old now! His birthday was Nov. 4th. We had a little party for him on his birthday. Sure wish all of you could have been with us to celebrate. He had a blast breaking into his presents and even more fun eating the cake! Didn't take him long to get the hang of it :) He's all practiced up and ready for his number 2 birthday!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Cribbins. My own set of wheels!
Yum...cake!!

Blake Island

Jeff's grandparents celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary this year so to celebrate the family went to Blake Island for dinner and a program at Tillicum Village. It was so beautiful! We took a boat ride over to the island where we had a salmon dinner and a Native American dance program. The kids were taken in by it all and really enjoyed watching the authentic dances. Then we had the opportunity to walk around. Below are some different pictures of us around the island. What a beautiful place this was!

It was a little windy!

Shane loved the rocks.
Cool tree!

Fall Soccer

This year both Abigail and Wyatt wanted to participate in fall soccer, so, of course, me being me, I signed them up right away!! Oh, how I love soccer! Found out that they were in need of coaches so, yup, I signed up to coach both of their teams. It was a little crazy but so much fun! They both had a blast and I had so much fun playing with them each week. Wyatt is still pretty young and he couldn't figure out why no one would share the ball with him! :) Abigail is a natural...she has talent, drive, and determination. It was amazing to see her get in the game and chase down that ball! Hopefully between the two of them there will be many more soccer games to come!

Allen family pics!

Hi friends and family! Well, I'm definately new at this blog thing so be patient with me. I'll get it eventually. Thanks to my friends Bianca and Marisa for getting me this far - you guys are great! I hope that this will allow me to be better at staying in contact with you all and keeping updated, as well as helping me out a little in keeping a journal/family history. Please visit often and I promise to do my best to keep it updated with our family stories. Here are few recent pictures to get started. The kids are growing so fast and we couldn't love them more! We love all of you and miss each of you so very much. Can't wait until the next time we can be together.
